There’s a certain blogger that I subscribe to that I have read every single post on. Most of my emails I discard immediately, but I always open her emails. What is this blogger’s name, and why do I enjoy her writing so much?
Her name is Mindy Moyer, and she started her blog a couple of months ago. She calls her blog “Girl of a Different Era”, and it focuses on sewing techniques, DIY, and stories from days gone past. The odd part is that am neither a girl, nor do I particularly enjoy Victorian-era sewing. So why do I like her writing so much? I enjoy it because of her true focus. In a recent post, she asked the question, “What does it mean to be from a different era?” and she answered it a little farther down:
“In fact, it has very little to do with fancy attire or appearance. It has to do with the heart, and means so much more. It has to do with your whole self, it has to do with giving your all for Christ, it has to do with becoming the man or woman He has designed you to be.”
Yes, she often writes about topics I have little interest in (i.e. sewing). Yet her faith and dependence on God are very visible through her writing. She may not explicitly mention God, but it’s obvious that she relies on Him. The “Girl of a Different Era” inspires me to live for Christ and truly be a “Surrendered Teen”.
